Advanced Perimeter Surveillance System for a National Memorial

Project Description

SDI, in partnership with a national electrical engineering firm, delivered an advanced security and perimeter solution for a national memorial to safeguard the site and its visitors center.

Project Goals

SDI implemented an intelligent megapixel video solution to secure the historical monument and its surrounding property. The megapixel system is a turnkey high-definition video surveillance solution delivering wide-area domain awareness and advanced 3D perimeter protection, with industry-leading features including stitched multi-camera image sets, region of interest capture tools, and interoperable metadata for easy integration with other industry-leading video management system platforms. The project also integrated the memorial’s new security systems to the police’s operations center for enhanced monitoring, response and reporting.

SDI Services

• Installed the core video management system
• Configured the intrusion detection and duress/alarm monitoring sub-systems
• Setup of cabinetry and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) components
• Provided installation of electrical wiring and cabling, acceptance testing of all equipment and system components.

Project Results

SDI was able to design the video surveillance system with fewer camera units than originally required in the initial engineering specifications, while providing enhanced surveillance coverage at the same time. The advanced High Definition surveillance solution offers complete domain awareness of the entire memorial site.
