SDI Takes the Chicago Polar Plunge, Benefiting Special Olympics Chicago

CHICAGO, March 6, 2017 – SDI (SDI Presence LLC), the mission-critical IT systems integrator, proudly participated in the 17th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge, benefiting the Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities. The SDI Team, who joined as part of Peoples Gas’ Team Kevin, raised over $7000 which contributed to Peoples’ fundraising total of over $57,000.

“It’s in SDI’s DNA to support our communities – and even better when we can support our clients as they give back to the community in ways that are important to them,” states SDI President and Chief Operating Officer Jack Hartman. “We thank the Peoples Team for including us in their outstanding efforts and hosting a thrilling event.”

Peoples Gas/Team Kevin honors Kevin Stapleton, the older brother of recent Peoples Gas retiree Mark Stapleton, who participated in the inaugural Special Olympics in 1968. He still has all his awards from that event and subsequent competitions. Peoples Gas employees were so touched by his story and named their team in his honor to show support for Special Olympics and the participating athletes. (source: Peoples Gas)
