The recent conference of the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) held in Anaheim was a great opportunity for SDI to connect with clients, engage with industry leaders, and gain insights into the changing landscape of government financial management. At CSMFO, SDI not only reaffirmed its commitment to delivering exceptional services but also gained valuable insights into the evolving landscape of technology-driven governance.
Here are SDI’s top observations from CSMFO:
- There was quite a bit of discussion surrounding AI-driven data analytics. During conversations, we continued to circle back on how technology can be leveraged to streamline operations and improve efficiency. I received consistent questions from attendees. How can we surface data to improve decision-making? How can our organization focus less on producing reports and more time on analyzing the data (gaining insights on the data)? Government financial institutions are working to enhance and improve the nature of how they do business and interact with the public.
- We attended an interesting session titled ‘Protect Your Organization from Cybercrime.’ The fast-paced session discussed common data breach incidents and ways to prevent them. We also learned actions finance officers can take to help improve cybersecurity at their organizations.
- It was great to hear from current clients about how well our services are received. In speaking with many conference attendees, it made me realize how much our services are needed. Whether it is a software procurement, an ERP implementation, or IT services, we provide true value to our clients. SDI’s staff are trusted advisors and advocates for our clients.
