The NIMS Certification Training program was developed by the Incident Management Systems Integration Division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide a consistent nationwide template enabling the government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. NIMS is a comprehensive, national approach to incident management that is applicable at all jurisdictional levels and across functional disciplines.
SDI Employees took the mandatory ICS – 100.a, 200.a, 700.a, 800.b, and ICS 300 2-day classroom training designations to complete the course and receive the NIMS certification. This certification enables SDI employees to arrive at an incident with little notice and still understand the procedures and protocols governing the response, as well as the expectations for equipment and personnel.
