CHICAGO, September 25, 2009 — SDI (System Development.Integration, LLC), a systems integrator focusing on mission-critical systems and infrastructure of capital asset intensive organizations directly impacted by Homeland Security issues, reports the successful completion of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certification Training by several of its personnel.
The NIMS Certification Training program was developed by the Incident Management Systems Integration Division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide a consistent nationwide template enabling the government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. NIMS is a comprehensive, national approach to incident management that is applicable at all jurisdictional levels and across functional disciplines.
SDI Employees took the mandatory ICS – 100.a, 200.a, 700.a, 800.b, and ICS 300 2-day classroom training designations to complete the course and receive the NIMS certification. This certification enables SDI employees to arrive at an incident with little notice and still understand the procedures and protocols governing the response, as well as the expectations for equipment and personnel.
“Additional NIMS certified employees brings added depth to SDI’s ability to deliver truly interoperable, multi-jurisdictional technical solutions. The SDI Team understands NIMS and the DHS grant process, and are prepared to help clients pursue federal resources,” states David Gupta, President of SDI.
Completing the NIMS Certification Training provided SDI employees with an opportunity to enhance their ability to work together with all levels of government to prepare for, prevent, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of incidents regardless of the incident’s cause, size, location, or complexity.
