SDI Appoints Security Technology Veteran Yilmaz Halac to Director of Client Technology

Move Extends Firm’s IT Expertise into Security Client Base

CHICAGO, September 29, 2014 – SDI (SDI Solutions, LLC), a national systems integrator focusing on security and revenue generating technologies for complex, high-value, critical environments, announces the appointment of industry expert Yilmaz Halac to the role of Director of Client Technology. Mr. Halac will be responsible for utilizing his security technology expertise to increase scale, functionality, and data management of security and revenue generation IT programs.

Prior to joining SDI, Mr. Halac served as Managing Deputy Director of Public Safety Information technology (PSIT) for the City of Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications, overseeing technology for Chicago Police Department (CPD), Chicago Fire Department (CFD), 311 (non-emergency) and Office of Emergency Management (OEMC – 911). Mr. Halac was a member of Public Safety Technology Consortium (PSTC), a group which boasted members from CFD, CPD, OEMC, Health Department and Department of Aviation. The PSTC group has made many critical policy and procedural decisions for the Public safety in Chicago. Additionally, he was responsible for the research, planning and development of new technologies for all the public safety agencies.

Mr. Halac is well-credentialed in large-scale, event-based security management, having worked on the planning for the recent NATO Summit in Chicago in 2012, as well as serving as a member of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee along with the US Secret Service, FBI, DHS and other high profile supporting agencies. Prior to this major event, Mr. Halac also played a significant role for the Olympic selection initiative for 2016 and the 2008 Presidential election in Chicago. Mr. Halac has presented at numerous national and international technology conferences and symposia. He has several Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certifications and recognitions from various government organizations.
