CHICAGO, October 3, 2018 – IT managed services provider (MSP) and consultancy SDI Presence LLC (SDI) announces that Robert (Bob) Griffith has joined the firm as a Senior Program Manager, with responsibility over projects in SDI’s growing utility practice. Bob will serve as Program Manager at an SDI  gas utility client for a work and asset management consulting project.

“Bob brings a wealth of professional consulting experience to SDI, particularly in optimizing advanced EAM solutions within utility environments,” said Matthew Haughey, SDI Vice President/Delivery Executive for Utilities. “Bob’s addition to the SDI team adds to the depth of executive program management that the firm brings to complex client engagements.”

SDI’s 20-year utility resume includes over 30 public and investor-owned utilities, including ten Tier One utilities (utilities serving over 500,000 customers). The firm’s utility practice has grown to over 35 professional consultants with utility industry experience, delivering customer-centric utility systems including Customer Information Systems (CIS), Web Payment, Mobile Applications, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Telecommunications, Asset Management, Workforce Management, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  The firm also provides professional consulting services tailored to utility organizations, including IT Assessments and Strategic Planning, IT Policies and Procedures, Business Process Analysis/Reengineering, IT Governance, Change Management, Systems Integration, and IT Managed Services programs.

With a 20-year resume that spans a range of industries, Bob brings large-scale consulting experience with a specialization in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions. Before joining SDI, Bob held the position of Consulting Manager at Grant Thornton Advisory Services, delivering digital solutions to optimize clients’ EAM programs and capital project delivery processes. Projects included the development of a worldwide EAM delivery roadmap for Tier 1 automobile supplier – designing iterative approaches for rolling out EAM processes, system functionality, and organizational change to over 50 plants in over 20 countries.

Prior to Grant Thornton, Bob was a Delivery Lead for Accenture’s EAM practice for over 10 years, with clients that included: a major US transit agency (development of an asset registry, workflow processes, maintenance strategies, and standardized KPI’s for over 500,000 assets); a major Canadian oil exploration firm (program management transformation roadmap development that identified over $9 million annual savings through improved engineering data management, site commissioning, and field-based digital technologies); an international energy firm (SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP/PM) and Meridium Asset Performance Management (APM) asset management solution that resulted in $20 million in annual equipment uptime savings); and a global energy utility group (organizational readiness, communications, and change lead for an integrated Maximo reliability solution across the US mid-continent region).

Bob also brings the experiences gained as Director of Energy Management & Special Projects of Facilities Services at the University of Chicago, where he directed initiatives to identify and fund the University’s long-term capital needs and develop a campus-wide energy plan. Bob also held previous SAP Plant Maintenance and Project Systems lead delivery positions at Ernst & Young, where he led a $2 million SAP facilities management implementation for major a healthcare group in the Western U.S.

Bob is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Reliability Professional (CMRP) and holds an MBA from University of Chicago in Operations Management.
