For 30 years, SDI has delivered mission-critical systems and technology services to some of our nation’s most complex and public-facing organizations and government entities.
1989
Environmental Systems Design, Inc. (ESD), an engineering firm, builds an internal IT support division to manage technology solutions.
1996
On November 22, 1996, SDI (System Development Integration, LLC) is officially established as a standalone IT services firm spun out from ESD, focused on delivering IT solutions and advisory services.
2016
On June 1, 2016, SDI acquires SDI Solutions, and founder David A. Gupta returns as CEO, refocusing the firm on local presence and core IT expertise. The organization is renamed SDI Presence to emphasize its “Presence” for clients, team members, and communities.
2017
SDI Presence acquires NexLevel Information Technology, Inc., extending delivery capabilities on the U.S. West Coast and adding experienced consultants.
2021
A minority investment is secured from Abry Partners to fund national growth through both acquisitions and organic expansion.
SDI Presence also acquires Scientia Consulting Group, strengthening cloud and managed services offerings and further West Coast presence.

2024
SDI Presence signs a lease as anchoring tenant at Xchange Chicago, a major tech workforce development hub slated to open in 2025.
2025
The 28,000 sq. ft. Xchange Chicago hub officially opens, advancing tech apprenticeships and career pathways in Chicago.
