3 Key Takeaways from ServiceNow World Forum 2025

Last month’s ServiceNow World Forum in Chicago was all about momentum: the shift from talking about AI to actually delivering results with AI. Across sessions, demos, and conversations, three clear themes stood out to me—themes that are shaping how organizations approach digital transformation in 2025.

1) AI is no longer aspirational—it's operational

The buzzword days are over. What used to be proof-of-concept discussions about AI are now being replaced with real, operational deployments. Organizations are embedding AI directly into workflows, not just to cut costs, but to deliver better employee and customer experiences. ServiceNow highlighted its approach to agentic AI (or AI agents), showing how they can take action, not just to provide recommendations. The message was clear: AI + data + workflows is no longer a future state; it’s here and it’s here to stay.

2) Breaking Down Silos Through Unified Platforms

Another strong theme was unification. Many companies are still struggling with legacy systems, fragmented CRMs, and siloed data. ServiceNow is pushing a vision that consolidates IT, HR, customer service, and operations into a single platform, with AI as the connective tissue. By breaking down silos, organizations can finally orchestrate cross-functional processes and give leaders a true single pane of glass into their business. This is where efficiency meets resilience.  

3) From Inspiration to Execution: Hands-On Action

Unlike past conferences that focused mainly on thought leadership, the Chicago forum emphasized actionability. From hands-on labs to CreatorCon’s “hack zone,” the event encouraged attendees to test AI agents and workflow designs on the spot. This wasn’t about leaving inspired with big ideas; it was about walking with concrete next steps to implement back at the office. That shift from abstract vision to practical execution resonated across industries.

Final Thoughts

The ServiceNow World Forum Chicago 2025 underscored that digital transformation has entered a new chapter. It’s no longer enough to have a strategy; organizations need to show tangible outcomes powered by AI, data, and unified workflow. For leaders, the question has shifted from “Should we?” to “How quickly can we?”
