Challenge
A major U.S. airport needed to replace an aging Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system with a modern command center platform. The goal was to improve situational awareness, streamline operations, and integrate with existing aviation security and operational systems to provide a common operational picture for resource allocation and incident management.
The airport faced the challenge of coordinating multiple security and operational systems while ensuring real-time visibility of events across the airfield. The solution required seamless integration with mass notification, video management, GIS, flight operations, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency, safety, and decision-making capabilities.
Solution
SDI served as the implementation partner for Saab’s SAFE Event Management System, providing project management, professional services, subject matter expertise, software configuration, and training. The system was integrated with the airport’s existing platforms, including Everbridge, Milestone Video Management, GIS (Esri), NICE Digital Voice Recorder, Aerobahn Surface Management, SQL Reporting Services, Kibana Dashboards, Active Directory Federation Services, and SAFE Mobile.
The SAFE solution provided a holistic view of airport operations, enabling real-time insights, automated workflows, and resource allocation based on situational awareness.
