Challenge
A large multi-state gas and electric utility undertook an initiative to replace and modernize its Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) environment across multiple operating companies. The organization required a unified platform capable of managing asset data, regulatory compliance activities, and field operations within a single integrated ecosystem.
The solution needed to bring together asset management, analytics, GIS, and mobile field systems while ensuring data accuracy, system interoperability, and user adoption. Fragmented systems and inconsistent data limited operational visibility and made it difficult to support safety, compliance, and long-term asset planning.
Solution
SDI led the design and implementation of an integrated EAM solution built on a combination of enterprise asset management, GIS utility network modeling, and mobile technologies. The approach focused on creating a cohesive architecture that aligned asset records, spatial data, and field activity workflows into a single operational framework.
In addition to technical integration, SDI guided solution architecture decisions and supported organizational readiness to ensure the system could be effectively adopted across operating companies. The solution provided a scalable foundation for managing assets, compliance activities, and field operations with improved accuracy and consistency.
