Firm Broadens Service Offerings to Include Cloud-based Video, Access Control, Other Security Technologies

CHICAGO, June 23, 2015 – SDI today announced Blue Star Properties, a real estate commercial enterprise specializing in the revitalization of historic buildings, selected SDI to provide property information and emergency planning services for its 125 S. Clark property.

Blue Star Properties is a Chicago-based commercial real estate company known for the acquisition and revitalization of urban retail, office, and mixed-use properties in Chicago. Since first opening its doors in 2008, Blue Star has renovated more than thirty office, retail and industrial properties; its portfolio contains nearly two million square feet of commercial space. The 125 S. Clark property, a 500,000 SF building in the central business district, was built in 1907 by Daniel Burnham as the Commercial National Bank building of Chicago and is currently under renovation.

SDI will provide several property intelligence services to enable Blue Star Property Owners/Managers and Leasing managers to adeptly manage the space of the properties: The SDI team will field-verify existing conditions, calculate square footage per BOMA 2010 standards and produce CAD building files.  The Blue Star team will have secured access to all critical building information through SDI’s on-line CRE portal Profolio, including accurate vacant and rentable square footage, lease abstracts and expiration dates, printable CADD drawings and floor plans, and stacking plans. SDI’s dedicated CRE team will continuously update the property’s information and provide daily on-going support, including customized broker mailers. The SDI Team will also provide the building’s Emergency Plans – which include tenant information, evacuation routes and emergency procedures – to comply with City of Chicago ordinances.
