SDI Awarded Enterprise-Wide Technical Support Services Contract for Chicago Transit Authority

Chicago, August 15, 2012 — SDI (System Development.Integration, LLC), a leading systems integrator specializing in high-availability infrastructure for critical operations, announces that it has been contracted by the Chicago Transit Authority to manage its enterprise-wide Technical Support Services program. The contract is valued at over $24M over a five-year term, with two, one-year options.

The CTA operates the nation’s second largest public transportation system, covering the City of Chicago and 40 surrounding suburbs. With approximately 1,781 buses operating over 154 routes and 1,200 rail cars operating over eight routes, CTA averages about 1.7 million rides per weekday

This new contract replaces and expands SDI’s prior Integrated Support Services (ISS) contract with the CTA, which included 24 x 7 support of network devices, desktop management and maintenance of the Authority’s Active Directory and messaging environment. SDI services have now been extended to cover all of the CTA enterprise, increasing support from 35 locations to over 190 locations and quadrupling the number of network devices monitored. Support requests from the Authority’s system users across the City will be directed to the SDI Help Desk via phone, email and self-service web portal.

SDI has over 19 years of experience in designing, deploying and managing complex, large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure for government organizations such as the Chicago Public Schools, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, and O’Hare and Midway International Airports. In addition to providing support services to the Authority, SDI has a long history of delivering technology to the CTA, including the design and implementation of its Maintenance Manager Information System infrastructure, Active Directory migration and support, and project management oversight of a six-month, rapid installation of over 1,500 cameras across its rail platforms. For the past 7 years, SDI has met 99.9% of contracted service level agreements (SLAs) for the ISS program, and has consistently reported a 96% user satisfaction rating.

“We are pleased to extend our partnership with the CTA, and look forward to arming the Authority with both emerging trends and proven technical solutions as it looks to maintain high performing, resilient, and efficient technology infrastructure,” states David Gupta, CEO of SDI. “The SDI Team views this award as a testament to our firm’s commitment to working with our clients to provide premium, critical services while aggressively identifying additional value along the way.”
